 How to install Sophos Antivirus in Kerio Connect for Windows

Answer

Sophos Antivirus (SAV) for Windows works with Kerio Connect on:

  • Windows 2000
  • Windows XP
  • Windows 2003

To install:

  1. Download the trial version of SAV, or use your properly-licensed paid version.
  2. Install SAV. Refer to the SAV Evaluation Guide if you have any questions about installing the trial version.
  3. Go to the Start menu. Select Programs->Sophos Anti-Virus->Sophos Anti-Virus.
  4. Sophos Anti-Virus will appear. In the "Options" menu, choose "Exlusion List..."
  5. Click "Add."
  6. Click "Browse," then navigate to and navigate to the location of the Store, Archive and Backup folders for Kerio Connect.
  7. Default location:

    Windows - C:\\Program Files\\Kerio\\MailServer\\store

     

  8. Click "OK."
  9. Click "OK" in all the dialog boxes and then close Sophos Anti-Virus.
  10. Open the Kerio Administration Console and connect to Kerio Connect.
  11. Go to Configuration->Antivirus.
  12. Click on "Select antivirus..." (near the top).
  13. Choose "Sophos Antivirus (SAVI 2.0)"
  14. Click "Check & OK." After a second, you should see a message that reads "Antivirus started."

Sophos Antivirus should now be working properly and scanning your incoming and outgoing email!
